when zachary beaver came to town. Doesn't sound like much but within the first ten pages it gets very very interesting. Screeching little girl, hot big sister, black toothed friend. this is going to be an interesting book...........
I agree with you Bryson they really are interesting characters. What do you think about his friend Cal? I wonder do you think that Toby would be friends with Cal if they did not live in such a small town. It seems that in a number of moments for example when Cal is talking to his sister. He really seems to enjoy putting her down and bugging her. I am sure that is what most brothers and sisters do to each other but it seems that Toby is torn by some of the things that Cal does. For example what do you think about them sneaking a look at Zachary?

I think if Toby and Cal lived in the big city they wouldn't get around alot.But since they live in such a small town it seems like everbody nows everybody because when the sherif was driving some people he new all thier names
I also think these are interesting characters because they did a great job of introducing the characters but they did leave out some things that give the story its "texture" per say such as Scarlet, they could have talked about her or made a page with Scarlet talking about her life and problems, or maybe even cal because I know he isn't the main character [neither is Scarlet but she is one of my favourite characters *for reasons unknown*] but he is an interesting character.
