I was a bit confused at the end of the book when Toby said "I think it's gonna be a Wylie Womack d-. I catch myself, but it's too late. Cal hears me but he doesn't look sad. He's Grinning ear to ear." I went back to Wayne's letter to Cal and it mentioned Wylie Womack snow cones. I realized that Toby thought it make Cal sad because Wayne's dead but it didn't. So I found that Quite interesting.
i agree and i found it interesting also because the i thought that the snowcones were something toby cal and wayne did together and that was good that cal didn't think of wayne being dead and getting sad, and instead he thought of the good memories of himself and wayne and toby
ReplyDeletei also like the fact that cal is looking back at the thoughts of wayne being dead and instead of thinking about that, he remembers the good times before wayne went to war.
